How to Find the Right Dosage for You
Imagine you go to a pharmacy and they tell you:
“Try this! I don’t know where the ingredients are from. Actually, I don’t even know what’s in it. Potency? Good question. I think this stuff is strong!”
Finding the right dosage when eating edibles to treat symptoms can be a little frustrating, almost like flying blind and you can only hope the person who gave the edibles to you is trustworthy and has the same tolerance level as you do.
"Strong stuff"? What does that mean? It must be more than 10 mg of THC per dose, right? 15? 100? Eating edibles is a lot of trial and error. Take a bite. Wait an hour. Maybe take some more, or maybe not because you are already staring at the lava lamp unable to move. Didn't hit it this time.
On the other hand, looking at it from the perspective of the edible producer, getting a product out there that is consistent, with the same amount of cannabinoids in it each time, is not that easy.
Depending on the flowers we use, each batch of cannabis oil comes out a little different. Therefore, the first step is always the same: Get it lab tested. But even that is not as precise as we wish for. Different labs will give you different results of the same sample. On top of that, artisanal edibles like ours are handmade which inherently leads to minor differences.
Having said that, at Wind Hill Growers we have come pretty close to producing edibles that ARE created equal because we know how important it is to find the right dose.
Being glued to your couch when you’ve got work to do and all you wanted was a little bite of chocolate can mess up your whole schedule. Each dose in our full dose line contains approximately 10 mg of THC. But depending on what your plans for the day are or whether you are more of a light weight when it comes to edibles even that can be too much.
You can cut your edibles in half or quarters but try that with chocolate or hard candy. Not so easy. Or you can try our micro dose line. Each dose is approximately 5 mg of THC which is also a fine thing if you have a bit of a sweet tooth and a tiny tiny piece of chocolate is just not enough. Sometimes less is more. Sometimes it isn't.
