Lead Grower

 

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of organic practices

  • Previous experience in Botany or high performance gardening

  • Highly organized, self-starter, with positive attitude, follow through and grit

  • Computer literate, able to work with cloud based applications and project management software

  • Strength and endurance to work long hours in the sun, cold and rain. Knowledge of how to dress for the conditions

  • Basic farm experience, experience with hand tools and maintenance of said. Experience with basic farm equipment preferred (bucket loader, chainsaw, chipper, bush hog etc.)

  • Understanding/interest in continuous improvement/kaizen.

  • Strong detail orientation, record keeping and compliance (with current rules and regulations)

  • Able to make and keep a schedule

  • Have reliable transportation


DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Taking responsibility for the grow throughout the season.

  • Optimizing plant growth/health as measured in yield, quality and resistance to pathogens

  • Managing semi-skilled workers, coordinating their and your schedules such that work gets done.

  • Developing systems for work that can be used by other workers and can scale to other grows (recipes, schedules, inventories, farm generated fertility plans, etc.)

  • Managing your own and others’ time to see that work gets accomplished.


MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teaching/coaching others to see that they are working effectively and efficiently

  • Maintain cleanliness and order and encourage such in others
